As part of the “BağımSİZ Olun” Project, an addiction-themed exhibition and workshop activities were held.

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Addiction Struggle Coordination, in partnership with the Faculty of Art and Design and the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, conducted the activities of the “Be Independent: Empowerment and Resilience Workshops with Youth” project within the scope of the December event program in four different units. The project aimed to increase awareness in the fight against addiction by bringing together young people through workshops and activities organized at Salda Student Dormitory, Gölhisar Vocational School, Safahat Student Dormitory, and Bucak Health School.
The project activities began with the presentation of posters prepared by the students of the Faculty of Art and Design on the theme of addiction as an exhibition. The exhibitions attracted great interest with visual expressions aimed at increasing young people's awareness of addiction.
In the program, the “Peace with Myself-Self Value Workshop” aimed at strengthening young people's self-value perception was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Sütlü, the “I Am Also Here!-Coping with Social Anxiety Workshop” aimed at developing skills to cope with social anxiety was conducted by Lecturer Özge Kutlu, and the Cloth Bag Painting workshop aimed at expressing emotions through artistic expression was conducted by Youth Worker Rabia Aydemir.
The “Be Independent” project continues to offer a protective and developmental platform in the fight against addiction by combining education, art, and youth services within the scope of protective preventive activities against addiction, while continuing to organize activities that support the psychosocial empowerment of young people in university life.
